Boston Trip 2006

Boston Trip 2006

I got an invitation from my friend, Krishna Kishore Pulakandham, to visit Boston on week before Thanksgiving. We were exited about the trip as it's been more than 2.5 year we met. Vijay agreed to come along and headed to Boston at 10 AM after unexpected delays.

Later that evening we had pretty good dinner at Nepali restaurant and headed towards a party to booze and dance. The party started off rocking once our DJ, Shashank Maniar, started spinning the mouse over his Virtual DJ player. It's been almost 2 years I had fun of this scale.

Net magazines customer service couldn't get any worst.

Back in the month of April - 2006, I came across fatwallet's hot deal forum about Kiplinger's personal finance magazine - 3 year subscription deal. Even dude's like me who had no clue what that magazine is about ordered it as 3 year subscription is only $5 after coupon, it's a steal and one cannot expect any better.

I was bit cautious with the credit card payments (by using shop safe account) as I never heard of Netmagazines before. Netmagazines accepted my order and confirmed that i shall receive the magzines within 6-12 weeks time span. Being patient along with the other fatwallet buyers, I waited for the order to come in Mid June.

Stalin - Man for the Society

Couple of months ago I saw the Chiranjeevi's much hyped movie - Stalin. IMHO, at first I thought that, the story writer lifted the idea of filling post cards containing 'Sri Lord Venkateshwara Mahatyam blah ... send this text to at least 10 people and you would become millionaire soon etc'; but confirmed by my friends as a story lifted from Pay It Forward movie. In either case, application of this concept in Stalin movie might fetch some appreciations for future electoral entry.

House of flying goons - movie industry

Back in the days, 20 years ago, Bollywood and Tollywood movies have common trend. The trend was the hero in his childhood times would have hard time for some reason and wants to take revenge upon the obvious cause, the Villain. The kid of early teenage throws a ball / coin up in the air, title comes in a momentary pause and a grownup man catches it. Now the Hero is ready for action.

This has been done with a different logic in many movies. Hero is shown as grown man while running, kicking the coke can, wakeup from a nightmare etc. However, this trend got changed around 10 years ago.

So the new trend was the Heroine would be trapped by goons for some action. While these are busy tearing small pieces of her clothes, a rolling beer bottle distracts them and our Hero enters the screen from darkness. A confident goon tries to handle him. Bang ... he fly’s of couple of feet for the power punch delivered by hero.

Telugu movies titles - are just for hype

Back in 1997, when Chiranjeevi was giving flop after flop, director Muthyala Subbaiah gave a break with Hitler. Madhava Rao (Chiranjeevi character name), AKA Hitler, is well known for hardened and personality with strict principels. Though his principals and attitude costs his sisters, the story concludes that he is quite concerned about the family and finally wins the hearts of his sisters. So, why it is named Hitler? Don't ask me, get response from Chiru fans. :-)
