Hottest Deal Ever: 160 GB HDD for Free After Rebate

Any individual who freshly landed in America, agapes at cost of products that he is interested in. This is 100% true when he / she converts them into their countries currency. We defenitely cannot blame their feelings as various product's prices in America are touching the sky. Consider the following prices - a couch - $400, 450 W Powersupply - $70, Casual wear shirt - $40, Old Navy torn shorts - 20$. If I purchase the same in my home country, India, I get all of these products for 1/4 th price. Moreover, except for the weights in gym, most of the products sold here are made in China. All the businesses out here are multi million $ companies, may be because - the product manufacture is outsourced to cheap labor and are sold for 10 times the actual cost.

Anyways, while most of the product prices are outrageous, some of the computer accessories & peripherials you can get them for god damn cheap. Here is the story about, how I secured 160 GB HDD for FREE (tax included.) and it's only possible in America.

Most of the FOB's don't know about such possibilities. Even, I learnt about them recently through couple of deals sites like

The electronic stores like Circuit City, Best Buy, Comp USA, Staples, Office Max, Fry's Electronics, etc. often run some sales events. Usually, they hike the price for couple of days / months and reduce them with sale tag attached to it during holidays season. In general, this idea worksout great helping companies to reap profits on the products sold.

There are couple of exceptional professionals out here to figure out how to get a best deal on a product. Usually their tatics involve things like Coupons, Gift Cards, Price Match Policy, Rebates etc. Hats off to all those guys who closely monitor various products across couple of stores / websites. I came across 160 GB Seagate HDD deal from fatwallet and purchased it as suggested by gurus out there. Here is how I (might) secured the HDD for FREE.

1) Ordered online for instore pickup - 160 GB Seagate HDD from Circuit City for $109.99 + $7.70 Tax = $117.69
2) Applied instore coupon 15$ off $100 or Over = $94.99 + $6.65 Tax = $101.64
3) Price matched to Office Max as they are selling the same product for $79.99. Got $31.04 returned to my card. Total price = $70.06
4) This product also has two mail in rebates one for $40 and another for $30. Though there is risk of NOT getting the rebates after 8 weeks of product purchase, if successful, the product final cost would be = $0.04

Let's hope that these rebates would be processed smooth to make it my hottest deal ever.
