Should I use DataTable or NOT?

Usually, when ever we need to show some data from Database to screen , we set DataGrid / GridView control’s datasource property to DataSet / DataTable object. If you were not using DataTable / DataSet as media to bind data to Grid, my sincere apologies for including you in (we). Most of us are following this practise and after my recent experimentation(more details below), I would rather keep away myself from DataTable / DataSet. Why? Continue reading

SqlDataSource – Is it cool?

ASP.NET 2.0 is cool but oh yes, its buggy.

Just like other .NET application developers, I was very much excited about the ASP.NET 2.0 release. I scored a Visual Studio 2005 DVD from release launch event, organized in NYC. From the day one I started working on developing my application in ASP.NET 2.0.

During this course of days, I am very much pissed with the way it works. So far Microsoft Visual Studio Team boasted about more than 50 new controls. The very first I worked on is SqlDataSource & GridView. Continue reading

ICICI Bank Sucks! Chant goes on all over.

ICICI Bank – are their services worth? Definitely not, ICICI Bank Sucks. I was under presumption that I was the only guy got screwed up with ICICI bank services. Recently, I have come across other ICICI customers, who got pissed of what ICICI is offering. So, I have decided to compile list of posts and -ve reviews about ICICI so as to spread the message, ‘ICICI Bank sucks’, to everyone.

Do you have worse experience with ICICI too? Should you think that your experience with ICICI helps other refrain from their services, please let me know.

Which browser is faster?

Which browser is faster?

The other day while I was browsing through fatwallet, I came across a posting that gave information about Free Opera 8.02 version download.

As usual I have gone through the forum and started download the software. To my surprise, I came to know that Opera has comeup with many feature that are now being developed as add-ons for my favoirte web browser, Fire fox. I have installed and registered the Opera 8.02 browser for free. It has all nice features like multi tabs, authors view of page and many other user’s preference views, etc. The browser itself is pretty fast. Opera could not handle the style sheets as good as IE, Fire fox. What I have noticed with Fire fox is that it takes lot of time to switch / startup the application itself. Other than that I like everything about it. I also made a quick search on web to know the top browsers available till date. Some of the sofwares are completely differnt package and some work over internet explorer.

When have bunch of browsers available more or less with same features, I thought of conducting a small test on the some of highly rated browsers available from Download.com. This test is about how fast a browser can render, how much memory it takes up and how soon it will free the memory. Continue reading
